Blast from the Past (Bathroom)

The house we are in right now isn't our first rodeo with remodeling.  Which is a good thing.  I'm thankful we worked on smaller places to hone our skills before tackling a really big home.  The stakes are higher in a neighborhood like this.

But we've tried some fun stuff - which inevitably leads to more ideas for the next place.  I ran across some pictures of the remodeled bathroom when we were done at our last place.  Oh boy, how I *wish* I had a before picture to show you!  The change was dramatic.  But that was before I decided to document this stuff, so the after is all ya get.

Some features include:

  • rounded shower rod (makes the shower/tub feel bigger
  • new vanity, sink, faucet, glass tile
  • new flooring, padded vinyl...which is soft to walk on and awesome to clean!
That was a rewarding project but the logistics were a nightmare!  It was a one-bathroom place with 6 of us living there.  We adjusted to that part.  Three hours without a toilet at all while we were doing the floors was a little tougher.

  1. It looks really amazing. I love that you took the tile all the way to the floor! And I would've died without a bathroom for 3 hours! I would've been banging on the neighbors doors ...

  2. Love the tile! I finished a tile backsplash in the kitchen and I love it! We also dealt with having one bath, miserable!

  4. Just found your blog through your email. I just LOVE remodeling of houses (so long as I don't have to do it myself ;-D ) Going to read all your lovely recipes and your posts about the remodeling too.
Thanks again for your nice response to my page.
Can I ask which state you live?? Western is so capacious....
We were on holiday two years ago in 'the west' of the US. My favorite is Arizona and more specific Sedona. How I would love to live there. In three months we will be traveling 'the deep south'. If you like to follow our traveling, I'll be writing every day during our trip.
Well, Have a good weekend and 'till next time!
