Wallpaper Removal attempt....

The product we tried:

Here's my 2 cents.  There is only ONE way/product that will remove wallpaper.  All others (despite their claims) will fail and make you swear like a sailor till the early morn.

I repeat:  NOTHING ELSE WORKS.

So buy one of these:

Wagner Power Products 282018 1-Gallon Wallpaper Steamer

Or:  Just spend 20 hours and $100 on other products before you go back and buy one of these in desperation!

Either way.

Your choice.

  1. I am pretty sure your idea of swearing is saying friggin. I won't go so far to say the F work, but I have been known at time or two to say SOB. Looks like a lot of work, but it always is to make it YOURS!

  2. I have way more experience with Wall paper than I can to even talk about. In our last house one room had 3 layers on top of each other. I have found that the very best method is to pull off the top layer exposing the paper layer (using a scraper), then using super hot water in a spray bottle. that method even got wallpaper off a wall with only drywall no paint. Total cost ZERO! good luck with the removal - never any fun....

  3. Wallpaper removal has to be one of my absolute least favorite things to do. Congrats on making so much progress!!

  4. I took off the walpaper of a bathroom this past January. What a horrid job, about ruined ny wrist. None of the liquid removal agents worked... What worked best for us wa plain old cheap vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray, wait, spray and wait. The paper eventually lifted and I could scrape.

On the next bathroom, I am renting a steamer!! (That's a January cooped up in the cold Michigan winter project for me.)

  5. Great advice! I removed floor to ceiling wallpaper in my teeny tiny powder room using a scorer thingy (I'm very technical) and a bottle filled with water and fabric softener. So very messy ... but the room, I and the whole house smelled so fresh!

If I ever had to do again I would buy or rent a steamer!
