My daughter wanted to learn to make this frosting herself, because she had made herself a gluten-free cake the day before and found it incomplete without some fudginess on top!
1 1/2 C sugar
6 T butter
6 T milk
Mix this in a pan on the stove over medium heat. Bring to a boil and then boil while stirring for one full minute.
After it has boiled, remove from heat and add 1/2 C (or a little more) chocolate chips. Stir continuously as they melt.
Fill a bowl with ice and place pan onto the ice.
Keep stirring...the frosting on the bottom and sides will get thick since it is cooling. Keep stirring and the entire batch will thicken up like fudge...mmmm!
When it has thickened spread on cake!
