Removing word verification from your Blog

Does this look familiar?

I've helped a handful of bloggers change this setting on their blog this week.  Most don't even know it is happening, simply that they don't get many comments.  If you've wondered about this, its worth just checking.  Here's how:

Go to Dashboard.

Then click Settings.

Then click Comments.

Three up from the bottom click NO next to "Show word

verification for comments?"

Then click Save Settings at the very bottom.

  1. Great public service announcement. I give up when people have word verification, 'cause it takes me too many tries!

  2. There have been so many times I have typed in a comment and then deleted it because I can't see those 2 words. If I want to comment I have to open a new browser and then go find the site and page again - and it's just too much trouble! I wish everyone could see this and change theirs.

  3. Great information! I go crazy when I have to do word verification, why do they make the text near impossible to read?
Thanks for passing by my blog yesterday and leaving that lovely comment on my rug makeover.
This is the first time I've come across your blog and I like it a lot. Had a look at your other blog and it totally inspired me to bake some bread today ...thanks for that!
