Cinnamon Ornaments
Sure, the picture isn't too tempting, but alas they aren't food...so that's okay right?
You can bake these (non-edible) ornaments for an awesome boost of holiday smell on your tree and throughout your home. Lucky for me they also match my rustic decor.
But even if they didn't I'd probably make a batch just for the smell. Mmmm.....
To make these mix:
3/4 C applesauce
1 C ground cinnamon
Roll out this dough and cut with cookie cutters and either bake at 150 degrees for 2-4 hours or let dry overnight. My oven wouldn't go down that low so I baked them at 170 and they did get a little dry and crumbly.
Still. The smell was amazing, and I love getting close to the tree with them hanging on it.
P.S. I poked the little holes with a nail (or you could use a pencil) before baking and then strung them with twine. Yarn or any kind of string would work.
